Joy lives in messy moments.

My approach

I’m Rebecca. I’m a mum, loose-leaf tea snob, and someone who will squat on your front lawn if it means getting the perfect shot.

I chase light, laughter, and those small moments that become big memories. When I’m in a creative streak, I can edit for hours with nothing but a thermos for company.

Before I picked up a camera, I spent several years in design, editing, creating, shaping images, which gave me a sharp eye for detail. But it wasn’t until I stepped behind the lens that I found what truly lights me up.

A big turning point came when Melbourne’s stage 4 lockdowns hit just days before I gave birth. At home, with a newborn and a c-section scar, I set up my own shoot, big toe on the remote of an old camera, capturing moments no one else could.

That’s when I realised: even when it’s tempting to wait or feel more confident, messy moments hold joy.

At Rebecca Alyce Photography, my goal is simple: to make you feel comfortable, confident, and seen. The photos are yours to treasure, but the joy of creating them together is the bit I love most. I want it to feel effortless: a little laugh here, a quiet moment there, and images that make you smile for years to come.

“Exceptional family portraits and a seamless experience from start to finish. Communication was clear, location suggestions were spot on, and she worked brilliantly with the kids. The final images are natural, flattering, and very “us.” … high-quality family photos without the fuss.”

“Thanks, Bec, for an incredible family shoot! You were able to provide really helpful guidance pre-session to help us all feel relaxed and comfortable. I loved the very relaxed and easy-going atmosphere, and it was so helpful to know that no matter what the kids were doing or feeling on the day, your job was to capture the real and tender moments. A real snapshot in time that felt so authentic, and we ended up with stunning photos as well as real memories.”
